Submitted by Popa on Tue, 2007-06-12 10:21.Congratulations to our LHS students who recently completed the OGT (Ohio Graduation Test) and to the staff that prepared these students with the skills necessary for the test. I have always emphasized that reading is at the heart of education. On the OGT, over 97% of our students were at the proficient or higher levels. In writing, 98% of our students were at those levels. In math, 93% of our students were at the proficient or higher levels. In science and social studies, 89% of our students scored proficient or better. read more »

Submitted by Popa on Tue, 2007-05-22 09:15.What a time for our students....the concerts, the spring sporting events, the banquets, the recognition assemblies, and of course prom and after-prom. We have a lot of people working on all of these activities as we begin to conclude the school year. The prom was a huge success on April 28th, thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Michelle Wilson, her staff, and the administration. The play, Kokonut Kapers, included a cast of over 160 students. It was an entertaining show, directed by Mr. John Gresko, with much assistance from the 6th grade LMS staff. Congratulations to Mrs. Sherry Unger, who has recently been appointed as Principal at North Nimishillen Elementary School beginning with the 2007-2008 school year. Mrs. Unger has been the Testing Coordinator, Federal Programs Coordinator, and Curriculum Assistant, while also serving as the administrator in charge of the Main Street Education Center. Prior to those assignments, Mrs. Unger served as a Middle School Gifted Education teacher. We welcome Mrs. Unger to the North Nimishillen community. read more »

Congratulations to the LHS Band for a superb concert on the 16th of March at the Louisville High School gymnasium. The music selections were great, and the sound of our concert band was even better. My hats off to the senior leaders as well as to Directors Karen Long, Kris Bleininger, and Andrew Stankey. Job well done! read more »

Submitted by Popa on Thu, 2007-03-22 14:50.Our drama department at Louisville High School did it again - a tremendous production of the show "Carousel", performed on March 9th and 10th. A cast of over 50 students performed this classic of Roger and Hammerstein. Directed by Mr. Herb Crum and Student Director Tony Sylvester, the play was well casted and our students were fantastic. read more »
