Another great week. As I related in my opening school report, we are up in enrollment and are off to a very good year. Our district goal this year is to "Restore Our Excellence," in which we want to achieve the excellent report card rating in the district as well as all six buildings. The good news from last year's results is that the school district met AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) in all of the subgroup areas. This is the first time we were able to achieve that.  read more »

The 2007/2008 school year is off and running. Louisville Schools have had a good beginning, even though we had to make several reductions. Those reductions have resulted in fewer services in many areas including transportation, where we reduced one bus and arranged for quite a few cluster stops. The law requires that students not walk beyond one-half mile to a bus stop. We have not gone to that level of service yet, but some of the stops this year require children to walk further to catch the bus.  read more »

School is underway and we are off to a very good start. I want to particularly thank all of our maintenance/custodial staff for their hard work cleaning and preparing our buildings for a new school year for our students. As a taxpayer and community resident, you should take a minute and stop by our buildings to see how well they are maintained. Great effort by staff!  read more »

Welcome to August 2007. The summer is flying by and there are a lot of changes occurring rapidly as we prepare for the 2007-2008 school year. I am pleased to announce that Ms. Sherry Unger has accepted the position of Director of Curriculum for our district. She has been the assistant for the past five years and walks into the position with a firm grasp of the job responsibilities. Ms. Unger was previously going to become the principal of North Nimishillen Elementary School.  read more »

I hope that you are having a nice summer as we now approach August and things really begin to pick up in preparation for school.

I want to wish Mrs. Gail Martino, Curriculum Director, and Mr. Dan Harold and Mr. Kevin Tobin, High School Assistant Principals, the very best as they leave our district to take other administrative positions in Stark County. Mrs.  read more »

Congratulations to our staff at the bus garage for another 100% passage of our buses at the 1½ day bus inspection held on June 13 and 14. Transportation Director Jack Friesner, along with mechanics Bill Roosa and Tony Shaheen, did a great job getting our buses ready to go for the new school year. Bus drivers Julie McCauley and Gary Muhleman were also present to drive the buses in and out of the inspection points.  read more »

Summer days are here, and our school district is diligently planning for the new school year. We have had some recent resignations that will cause us to do some "looking" over the next several weeks. We wish the best to Mr. Kevin Tobin, who has served our high school as assistant principal for the last two years, and to high school CBI teacher Mr. Ed Miley, who is taking a position as a head football coach and teacher at Marlington. Mrs.  read more »
