As I opened my mailing from Stark Parks, I was excited to see that Louisville High School's advanced woodworking students were involved in making ten picnic tables for the Stark County Park District. Stark Parks provided the materials for the project.  read more »

Superintendent's Article - May 8, 2008

There are lots of great activities happening during this busy time of the school year. The high school prom was held on Saturday, April 26th at the Meyers Lake Conference Center, with about 370 students and guests in attendance. It was a great dance that took a lot of preparation on the part of the junior class and advisor Mrs. Michelle Wilson.  read more »

Superintendent's Article - April 17, 2008

The Louisville City Schools Board of Education is excited to welcome Mr. David Redd as the new Superintendent effective August 1, 2008. He will succeed me, as I will be retiring at the end of my contract effective July 31, 2008. Mr. Redd is currently Superintendent of Field Local Schools. He has served there for the past six years and prior to that was Interim Superintendent and Curriculum Director in the Coventry Schools. He also has been an administrator in Sandy Valley Schools and a counselor at Canton Local Schools.  read more »

Congratulations to JD Whaley for being selected as the March Stark County Teenager of the Month. This is a highly competitive selection process and it is nice to see our LHS students recognized countywide.

I want to thank everyone who came out to the two community engagement meetings on March 25 and 31. We had a total of over 400 people attend to provide the Board of Education with feedback about our facility options.  read more »

Superintendent's Article - March 20, 2008

Congratulations to all of the seniors and juniors who were inducted into the Louisville High School National Honor Society (NHS). Forty students were qualified and met the entrance requirements for induction. Paradise Church provided a delicious dinner, which was sandwiched around the induction and the program. It was a very interesting program in which NHS President, Mary Kate Casper, introduced each inductee, who then presented their guest of honor as a person who highly influenced their life.  read more »

Congratulations are extended to Emily Ickes for being named the February Stark County "Teen of the Month". This recognition program is sponsored by the Canton Repository and recognizes a boy and girl each month throughout the school year from schools in Stark County. Emily is very deserving of this honor and we as a community salute her.  read more »

Superintendent's Article - March 6, 2008

Good news from our Speech and Debate Team - recently three members qualified to Nationals this summer. Our winners included seniors Caroline Power and Catie Hewitt, and sophomore Joe Brenckle. Congratulations to you, to the team, and to Speech Coach Kelly Ladd for a great season.

I want to offer my congratulations to fourteen of our high school students for qualifying for the State Speech and Debate Competition. These team members include Larry Beaver, Cody Scibetta, Melissa Kellams, Courtney Lantzer, Cari Glaser, Catie Hewitt, Julie Hopkins, Tyler Cross, Caroline Power, Joe Brenckle, Ashley Moore, Danielle Sams, Heidi Babos and Brandy Moser.
