The Louisville Schools is a district of 3,240 students that incorporates the City of Louisville and Nimishillen Township in Stark County. Recent growth in residential properties has resulted in an increasing student enrollment. The geographic area served by the schools covers approximately 36 square miles.

While the district is served by a central office staff to provide support for ongoing programs and services, the district prides itself in having schools that are site managed with a great deal of autonomy. Teachers, parents and administration share the decision making and problem solving process in quality managed schools.

The district prides itself in offering a comprehensive program at reasonable cost to taxpayers. Louisville's students score well in standardized and state proficiency testing. Every effort is made to provide quality programming at all schools and to do what is best for students.

Mission Statement

We, the Louisville City Schools, believe that all students can learn. We believe that our purpose is to discover and develop to the fullest extent the potential of every child. The emphasis of this purpose is for the student to become a lifelong learner and a positive contributing member of our society.

The achievement of this philosophy is dependent upon the student with the collaboration of the family, church, business, community and school.

Vision Statement

It is the vision of the Louisville City School District to continue to implement and upgrade a curriculum-based technology plan which will reflect a district commitment to accomplish the following:

  • increase student research, problem solving, thinking and communication skills;
  • prepare all students in Louisville City Schools to function effectively in a technology -driven world;
  • provide students with the tools, knowledge, and training required for them to access, explore, and create information sources;
  • support curriculum development and communication by maintaining and enhancing connectivity between classrooms, buildings, agencies, and the community. This is to provide access to all available resources and service providers;
  • provide continuous staff development opportunities to implement the technology plan;
  • provide the community with the opportunities for technology awareness, training, involvement, and connectivity; and continually evaluate and revise the technology/curriculum plan to ensure that the necessary materials will be provided, maintained, and upgraded.
